LEWISBURG, (Pa.)—Packwood House Museum will hold a holiday cookie baking workshop on Saturday, November 7, at 10 a.m. Taught by retired Lewisburg High School art teacher Cyndy Shaffer, the class will provide audience members with demonstrations of tried-and-true tricks and shortcuts for less holiday stress and more fun when making decorated cut-out cookies that taste good. Seating is limited, so registration, with a $5 registration fee, is required. Shaffer grew up in a family of cookie bakers and has continued on with that tradition during her teaching career in the Lewisburg Area School District, using a “cookie curriculum” for several years while teaching younger students about topics as different as birds and states.
The class will be held in the Museum’s Tour Center at 15 North Water Street. Funding for materials has been made possible by a grant from the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts. For questions about Packwood House Museum or its programs, please call 570-524-0323.
