LEWISBURG, (Pa.)—Packwood House Museum’s Annual Fundraiser Dinner was held on Saturday, April 1st, in the Museum’s Dining Room and featured a “Williamsburg” theme. This year’s winning ticket holder was Valerie Bieber of Milton.
Catered and served by Chef Mike Ditchfield’s students of The School of Business and Hospitality at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, the evening started with champagne and hors d’oeuvres in the Museum’s Recepetion Room, including ale-braised duck sausage, smoked shad, and asparagus with tavern ham. After moving to the Dining Room, an appetizer of smoked pheasant en croute began the meal, followed by Chesapeake chowder. Next, a salad course of celery root with bibb lettuce and a raspberry scrub vinaigrette was served. After an intermezzo of lemon thyme sorbet, a poultry course of roasted stuffed quail with apricot glazes and roasted sweet potatoes was served, followed by an entrée of roasted racks of lamb with rosemary au jus served with sautéed green beans and a potato and parsnip puree. While a dessert of maple walnut pound cake with a bourbon glaze and maple crème brulé was being prepared, guests were treated to a tour of the first floor of the museum by Jennifer Snyder, administrator of Packwood House Museum.
