LEWISBURG, (Pa.)—Packwood House Museum is pleased to announce that it will be hosting an exhibit by the Susquehanna Art Society during Lewisburg’s modified Stroll Through the Arts this year. The show will be on display in the Kelly Gallery and will be open from noon to 5pm on Saturday, November 7, and Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm from November 10-21. The society’s online exhibition can be viewed here. For more information about this year’s Stroll Through the Arts, visit their website.

The Susquehanna Art Society was formed in 1979 “to promote the advancement and enjoyment of the visual arts within the Central PA area.” Its first show, displayed at Susquehanna University in 1980, featured works by 30 artists hailing from a 40-mile radius in the valley. Today, the society is open to all Pennsylvania artists, and its mission is to “provide artists in the Central Susquehanna Valley, Pennsylvania, a common meeting ground, and…to increase awareness of the visual arts of painting, graphics, sculpture, photography, and other contemporary and traditional fine art mediums.”

Art exhibits at Packwood House Museum are always open to the public without charge. The Kelly Gallery is in the Museum’s Tour Center at 15 North Water Street in Lewisburg. Due to ongoing issues with the pandemic, the historic house museum will not open for tours at this time. Masks, social distancing, hand sanitizing, and crowd limits will be enforced in the gallery and gift shop. For more information on the museum and its programs and exhibits, please call 570-524-0323.

LEWISBURG, (Pa.) – Preparations for Packwood House Museum’s Annual Fundraising Dinner are underway. This year’s dinner, held on March 28th at 7 p.m., will feature cuisine from New Orleans. Created and served by the students of The School of Business and Hospitality at the Pennsylvania College of Technology, the evening will start in the Reception Room with drinks and hors d’oeuvres, including shrimp etouffee in puff pastry and duck-ham wrapped scallops with pork belly.
