LEWISBURG, (Pa.)–Packwood House Museum is pleased to announce its 2014 Summer Programs for Kids. Each session will be held 10:30 a.m. until noon on Tuesday mornings from June 17ththrough August 12th at the museum’s Tour Center, located at 15 North Water Street in Lewisburg, unless otherwise noted. All programs are free, but space is limited and the museum requests that parents pre-register their children by calling the museum at 570-524-0323.
Funding for the programs has been provided by grants from the Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts and the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts. All supplies will be provided. [Read more…]

LEWISBURG, (Pa.)–Packwood House Museum is pleased to announce that its first summer workshop for kids will be held on Tuesday, June 17th, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. “Folktales,” featuring Welsh-born Fiona Powell, will delight kids of all ages as Powell, dressed as a weaver, tells stories and tales from around the world while she spins at her wheel. LEWISBURG — Central Columbia High School senior Madeline Padner picked up this year’s Best in Show award at Packwood House Museum’s 36th annual Scholastic Arts Exhibit. The winning entry, an untitled portrait, was entered in the Pencil, Pen and Ink Drawing category. The exhibit opens Tuesday, April 22nd, and is on display through Saturday, May 3rd, as part of the Lewisburg Arts Festival. The exhibit features 122 two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces by 109 student artists from 16 high schools from around the Central Pennsylvania region. [Read more…]
LEWISBURG, (Pa.)—Packwood House Museum will host Randy and Josey Brendle during Lewisburg’s Festival of the Arts on Saturday, April 26. The Brendles will have a display of antique musical instruments, provide free children’s activities, and will perform traditional folk music.
